Runge, Carl Lebricht (7 Mar. 1882 - 10 Dec. 1951)

Carl Lebricht Runge, 69, who spent most of his life on a farm a mile east of Unity, died in his sleep at 11:55 a.m. Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Machlett, in Albuquerque, N. Mexico where he had been visiting since Thanksgiving.

The body arrived Tuesday and will repose at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Frinday.

At 2 p.m. another service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, after which internment will be made in the Colby cemetery.

Mr. Runge was born March 7, 1882 in the Town of Theresa, Dodge County, and received his education in public schools in that county. On September 26, 1905 he was married to Hertha Schellpfeffer, who died on September 10, 1943.

On June 12, 1946, he married Ida Rogney in Auburndale. She died December 6, 1950. Since her death he lived with his son, Harold, in Unity, and this fall went to Cleveland to visit his daughters, staying there until November 23, when he left for his western visit.

Surviving children by his first marriage are Mrs. Henry (Irene) Machlett, Albuquerque, N. Mexico; Mrs. Robert Stewart and Mrs. Charles Snyder, both of Cleveland, Ohio; and a son, Harold Runge, of Unity. There are 10 grandchildren. A son, Raymond, died in 1909.
