Riplinger News

Mrs.T. J. Pagels is still confined at St. Joseph’s hospital in Marshfield.

The Sunday School had their annual picnic Sunday, June 24. Childrens services were held in the church because of cold weather and damp ground. Rev. Pagels held informal services which were attended by young and old. The Ladies Aid served dinner in the church basement. In the afternoon games and softball were played with all having an enjoyable time.

Miss Betty Ann Rex returned from her graduation tour thru the east, last week.

Trip to Southern Minnesota by Edmund Kuester

June 3 we left Riplinger via Soo Line train to St. Paul and Minneapolis. At 8:40 we left Minneapolis and went on to Winthrop, Minn., and on Friday attended the wedding and reception of a nephew, Ewald Kuester. Then we went on to Fairfax, Minn. for a visit and had a chance to stack some Minnesota alfalfa hay. We visited the Mission Festival at Wellington Sunday and met many old friends, many of whom sang with me in the choir there 55 years ago.

We visited relatives in Fort Ridgel and then went on to where the big tornado struck, blowing down trees, big smoke stacks, and windows in stores causing a great deal of damage and then we went on back to Riplinger.
