Burnett, Mr./Mrs. Erwin (40th Anniv. - 14 Oct. 1950)

Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Burnett observed their 40th wedding anniversary at a 6 o’clock dinner Saturday, October 14 at their home southeast of Unity, which has been home to them most of their lives. Sharing their honors with them was their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Emory Schultz and sons Jimmie and Ray from Rock Island, Ill.

Approximately 80 relatives and friends gathered to honor the couple. The house was decorated in autumnal flowers; a tiered cake of pink and white and lighted candlebra formed the centerpiece of the table.

In the evening, dancing at the Riplinger Hall provided entertainment, after which guests returned to the farm home where refreshments were served at midnight. The honored couple received many gifts.

Present besides their daughter and family were Mrs. Adele Sook, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Neitzel of Milwaukee; Mrs. Martha Martens and daughter Eileen and Mr. Leonard Kalkowski of Junction City; Mr. and Mrs. Al Hoover, Mrs. Mary Sohemtzler, Mr. and Mrs. Art Foss and daughter Lois Ann, of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Dan Martens, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Martens of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sanders, Jo Ann, Donna, Janice and friend of Airport Tavern, Colby; Mrs. Oscar Carlson, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Melander, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hederer, Miss Louise Luchterhand and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Martens, of Unity.

The Register joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for many more years of happy wedded life together.
