Roger L. Sook (July 3, 1938 - May 8, 2007)

Roger L. Sook, 68, of 601 E. 21st St., died Tuesday evening, May 8, 2007, at the Palliative Care Unit at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark A. Krueger officiating. Burial will be in Yolo Cemetery in the town of Fremont, Clark County. Nathan and Jared Jones, Larry Kramer, Mike Collins, Dan Kummerow and Scott Cook will serve as the pallbearers.

Visitations will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today and again from 10 a.m. until time of the services Friday, both at the funeral home.

Roger was born July 3, 1938, in town of Unity, Marathon County, to Donald and Flossie (Schofield) Sook. He graduated from Spencer High School and worked as an electrician with the I.B.E.W. union. He later drove bus for Marshfield Bus Service before he became disabled.

Roger loved camping, deer hunting and ice fishing. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Marshfield and was an active NRA member. He also enjoyed his time he had at Wells Nature View.

Roger's first marriage was to Betty Stone on July 2, 1960, at Grace Lutheran Church in Nasonville. Betty died in 1983. He then married Ann F. Hughes on Aug. 1, 1984, at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield. Ann died July 16, 2005.

Roger is survived by his mother, Flossie Sook of Wausau; two daughters, Dawn (Scott) Cook and Denise (Dan) Kummerow, both of Wausau, and one son, Don (Trina) Sook of Denver, Colo.; three stepsons, Randall (Joleen) Jones of Hewitt, Sgt. Ronald Jones of Camp Libertyville, Iraq, and Robert (Rebecca) Jones of Marengo; one stepdaughter, Rhonda Bullock of Port Edwards; nine grandchildren, Erin, Jared, Lennon, Benjamin and Nathan Jones, Crystal Kelly, Amber and Jared Cook and Elizabeth Kummerow; and two great-grandchildren. He is further survived by one brother, Roy (Janet) Sook of Amherst; and four sisters, Barbara Sook of Eau Claire, Karen (Wayne) Molle of Hanover, Ill., Judy (Arvid) Karow of Wausau and Sandra Auld of Seattle, Wash.

Roger is preceded in death by his father, both wives, Betty and Ann, and a great-grandson.
