Breuer, Hedwig (2 Nov. 1874 - 27 Jul. 1948)

A Requiem High Mass was read Saturday morning at 9:30 o’clock at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Colby for Mrs. Hedwig Breuer, 73, who died of diabetes at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Peter Dunigan, Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. N. B. Beschta officiated at the rite, and burial was made at Colby.

Pallbearers were Peter Apfelbeck, Tony and Albert Hoffman, Leo Hebert, Louis Hartl and Ed. Feit.

Mrs. Hedwig Breuer was born November ?, 1874, in Germany and came to the United States at the age of 18. She married George Miller in 1893 and they lived in Reeseville and Watertown, later moving to the farm on which she resided until the time of her death. Mr. Miller died and on May 10, 1904, she married Paul Breuer, who preceded her in death six weeks ago on June 9.

She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society of St. Mary’s Church.

Surviving are eight children, Ernest Miller, Riplinger; Mrs. Jack (Meta) Saunders, Milwaukee; Reuben Miller, Chicago; Mrs. Peter (Agnes) Dunigan, Wisconsin Rapids; Anton Breuer and Mrs. Ralph (Elizabeth) Greenwood, both of Milwaukee; Benjamin Breuer on the home farm and Joseph Breuer, Marshfield.

Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two sisters.
