Manthe, Mildred (3 Oct. 1904 - 14 May 1979)

Spencer, Wis. - Mrs. Olaf (Mildred) Manthe, 74, Route 1, Spencer, was dead on arrival at 5:15 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Spencer. The Rev. David J. Ault will officiate. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rux Funeral Home.

The former Mildred Schultz was born Oct. 3, 1904 in the town of Unity to Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Schultz and attended Willow Brook School. She clerked in Graves Store before her marriage Oct. 7, 1925 at Spencer to Olaf Manthe.

After marriage, they farmed in the town of Unity until retiring in 1968. They observed their golden wedding anniversary in October 1975.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid of which she was past president, and Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.

Her husband survives along with a daughter, Mrs. Louis (Ione) Meyers of Highland, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Driscoll of Spencer. Three sisters, four brothers and her parents predeceased her.
