I am researching an Ira Chapman born in Ohio in about 1838, who lived in Jefferson County, Wisconsin and married Mary Baker. We thought that his parents were Luman Chapman and Lois (Houghtailling) Chapman. As a matter of fact, I have a copy of an 1850 census in Jefferson County, Wi that shows Ira living with a 94 yr old John Houghtailing, whom I assumed was his grandfather or great-grandfather. There seem to be so many similarities with the Ira I'm researching and this one, that I thought I would see if I'm missing something. I noticed on the wvls.lib.wi.us website for Clark County, that they are looking for info on Ira, whose parents were Luman and Lois Chapman, and this is where I found your link.
