Dittner, Richard N. (29 Mar. 1913 - 25 Mar. 1945)

Richard N, Dittner, a former well known and highly respected resident of Spencer died Sunday noon at St. Joseph hospital in Chippewa Falls where he had been confined since being hurt in an accident seven miles west of Chippewa Falls on March 9. The accident occurred when the Soo Line freight truck which he was driving and a milk truck collided in a fog. Dick suffered a brain concussion and other injuries.

The body was brought to the Swarthout Funeral Home in Spencer where funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 1:45 o’clock, followed by a 2 o’clock service at Trinity Lutheran church with the Rev. A. C. Stapel officiating, with internment in the Spencer cemetery.

Richard N. Dittner, the son of Mrs. Esther Dittner of Spencer, was born in Loyal March 29, 191? and was married at Marshfield June 26, 1939, to Norma Stoltenow of Spencer. Surviving besides his wife and mother are two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Ann) Fenhouse of Spencer and Mrs. Leslie (Bertha) Rhoades of Merrillan, and a brother, Rudolph, in service somewhere in France. His father, Rudolph Dittner, died some years ago.
