Dorothy Brown

Dorothy Brown, 90, Town of Frankfort, died Thursday, February 8th, 2007, at Continental Nursing Home, Abbotsford, Wis.

Funeral services were held February 13th at St. John’s Lutheran Church, High Steeple, Town of Wien. The Rev. Matthew Christians presided. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Dorothy was born November 23rd, 1916, in the Town of Johnson, daughter of the late Edwin and Augusta (Bahr) McKee.

On May 27, 1939, she married Herbert Brown in Wausau. He preceded her in death on October 13, 1980.

Mrs. Brown was a homemaker, cooked at the former Trianon Ballroom and worked for Bethesda Lutheran Thrift Shop, Wausau. Dorothy was also a former Sunday School teacher and held various offices in the St. John’s Lutheran Church Evening Guild, Missouri Synod. She enjoyed making quilts for World Relief, which were made in her home since 1982.

Besides her parents and husband Herbert, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Walter and Arthur McKee; five sisters, Stella Oberg, Janet Eggebrecht, Isabelle Wallner, Viola Olson and Ethel Beran. Other survivors include many nieces and nephews.

Peterson-Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens assisted the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
