Child Terribly Burned

Near a tragedy, or what may be one, came to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alvas Repplinger, in this village about 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon, when their seven year old daughter, Lorraine, received burns from which she may not recover.

Mr. Repplinger was away from home at the time of the accident, and Mrs. Repplinger was in the sitting room, while the children Lorraine and her younger brother Joie, were in the kitchen cutting pictures from papers. The little attempted to throw the scraps into the fire box door of the range, when a burning piece ignited her dress and before the fire was extinguished she was terribly burned from her waist to her knees and the under parts of her arms. She was rushed to the Krohn hospital for care. Her parents and grandparents are with her as much as possible. Some favorable reports are received of her condition.
