Kustka, Frances (12 JAN 1864 - 13 MAR 1931)

The Stetsonville community was saddened Thursday by the sudden death of Mrs. Wenzel Kustka, who passed away at her home from paralysis. She had been ill just a week when she passed away. Funeral services were held Monday at the Sacred Heart Church at Stetsonville with Father Gleisner officiating. Interment took place in the Stetsonville Cemetery with Herman Baumer, Joe Schemenski, Joe Karuse, John Gebert, Ernest Weiher and Otto Muehler acting as pallbearers.

Frances Altman was born in Kolmstein, Germany, Jan. 12, 1864, and was 67 years and 2 months old at the time of death. She grew to womanhood there and was united in marriage to Wenzel Kustka on Oct. 5, 1890. Four children were born to this happy union, Mrs. Grace Long, of Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Mary Rathmeier, Joseph and Wenzel Kustka, Jr., all of Stetsonville. Besides her immediate family, Mrs. Kustka leaves 2 brothers and a sister in Germany, and a brother at Kennan, Wis., to mourn her untimely departure.

In 1913 the Kustka family arrived in America from Germany and settled at Westboro where they remained until 1918, when they moved to their farm home 4 miles east and 2 ½ miles south of Stetsonville.
