Before an altar beautifully decorated with tall standards of calla lilies, rubrum lilies and assorted spring flowers, palms, ferns and candelabra, Miss Gertrude Margaret Beyreis, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Beyreis of this city was united in marriage with Emmanuel Oettinger Woerner of Chicago. The ceremony was performed at St. Paul’s Church at 6 o’clock Saturday evening by Rev. E.C. Grauer.

During the ceremony Mrs. Morris Miller played the Lohengrin and Mendelssohn’s wedding marches, and Mrs. Helen Boettcher sang "O Promise Me" and "I Love You Truly." During the reading of the ceremony, Mrs. Miller played Handel’s "Largo" very softly on the organ.

The bride and her sister, Miss Myrtle Beyreis, as maid of honor, and her bridesmaids were Miss Grace Papenfus of this city, and Miss Delia Sherman of Milwaukee. Otto Keiffer of Chicago, cousin of the bridegroom, served as best man and the groomsmen were Carl Landgren of Kenosha and Thomas Insgstrup of Madison. The ushers were Arthur Beyreis and Earl Papenfus.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was beautifully gowned in a period frock of ivory taffeta, fashioned with a long, tight bodice, with a square neckline, double puffed sleeves and a long full skirt which fell to the floor. Her long veil of tulle, bordered with Rose Point lace was caught in cap effect with orange blossoms. Her slippers were of white kid and she wore a long necklace of pearls. She carried a large colonial bouquet of solid white Carolina roses encircling a center of pink roses.

Miss Myrtle Beyreis also wore a period styled frock, in peach georgette with tucked bodice, short puffed sleeves and a long full skirt. She wore a necklace of brilliants and slippers of peach colored moiré. Her flowers were a large arm bouquet of Johanna Hill roses with assorted spring flowers.

Miss Grace Papenfus was gowned in Alencon beige lace over pink satin, fashioned with a long tight bodice, short snug sleeves and a skirt which fell long and full to the floor. The belt of the dress was caught with a buckle of rhinestones. She wore a long necklace of crystal and her slipper were of pink moiré. Her large arm bouquet was of pink and white Johanna Hill roses and assorted spring flowers.

Miss Delia Sherman’s gown was of pink silk lace over a deeper pink silk crepe, fashioned with the long tight bodice and full skirt which fell to the floor in uneven length. From the neckline in the back fell a deep cape collar which dropped over the shoulders to for short sleeves. She wore a necklace of brilliants and her slippers were of deep pink moiré. She carried Johanna Hill roses and assorted spring flowers.

The bride’s mother was in black chiffon and lace and wore a corsage bouquet of assorted spring flowers.

The bridegroom’s mother, Mrs. E.P. Woerner of Chicago, wore a dress of figured pussy willow silk and wore a corsage bouquet of spring flowers.

After the ceremony, a dinner was served in the Green room of the Hotel Wausau, covers being laid for forty guests. Mr. and Mrs. Woerner and the wedding party received in the rose room.

The bridal party table was beautifully decorated with baskets of assorted spring flowers and lighted pink taper, with a three tiered wedding cake serving as a centerpiece. Following the dinner Mrs. Woerner tossed her bridal bouquet from the balcony to the main hall of the hotel, where it was caught by Miss Sherman.

During the evening Mr. and Mrs. Woerner departed on a wedding trip to New Orleans and other points in the south. The bride chose for traveling a spring frock of black and white, a black straw hat with flowers of black and white, and wore black and white kid gloves, and slippers of black kid. Mr. and Mrs. Woerner will be at home after April 1st at 1410 N. Central Av., Chicago.

Mr. Woerner graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1929 and taught in the Park Falls High School last year. Since last June she has been employed in Chicago.

Mr. Woerner graduated from the University of Wisconsin last June. He is a member of Pi Kappa Alpha and Alpha Kappa Psi fraternities. He is now employed in Chicago as an interior decorating consultant.
