Maes, William H. (5 MAY 1868 - 21 NOV 1929)

The people of this village were pained to hear yesterday morning that William Henry Maes, who has been an invalid for several years, passed away Wednesday evening at 9:30 o’clock. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon, 1:30 at the house and 2 o’clock at the Lutheran church.

Mr. Maes was born at Sheboygan, May 5th, 1868, and was brought up in the Lutheran faith. He married Miss Bertha Machlett of Sheboygan June 25th, 1892, and they had nine children, two of whom, both sons, are dead. Henry died in 1910 and Alvin died in 1918. Mr. Maes is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Jos. Beaver, Eau Claire, Mrs. Chas. Begin, Chippewa Falls; Mrs. Patrick Sullivan, Chicago; Mrs. Jerry Smith, Chicago; Dorothy, Milwaukee; Earl and Art at home. Also one sister, Mrs. Albert Muehl of Saxon, Wis.; two half sisters, Mrs. Oscar Kuechenmeister and Mrs. Reinold Kuechenmeister of Neillsville, and four half brothers, Henry, John, Theodore and Paul Maes of Neillsville, Wis. Also three grandchildren. (Rib Lake Journal)

Mr. Maes and family for many years lived here in the village (Dorchester, Clark Co., Wis.) and will be remembered by any of the old timers.
