Stricker, Verna (Marriage - 4 July 1941)

Dressed in a street length dress of white saylina and wearing a shoulder corsage of gardenias, Miss Verna Stricker of Madison, Wis., became the bride of Laurin Mallory of Granton in a single-ring ceremony performed by Rev. William A. Baumann, Neillsville, Wis.

The wedding took place at 2 p.m. on July 4th, at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Stricker, who reside on South Court Street, Neillsville, Wis. Only the immediate families of the couple were present.

Miss Ila Counsell, Neillsville, wearing a light blue street-length dress and a corsage of sweet peas, and Neil Johnston, Loyal, were the attendants.

The Stricker home was open to friends immediately after the ceremony. Later in the day the couple left on a three day wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin.

Mrs. Mallory is a graduate of the Neillsville High Scholl and Whitewater State Teachers college. Since her graduation she has been employed for several years as instructor in the commercial departments of the Melrose and Granton High Schools. At present she is employed by the state department of Public Welfare at Madison.

Mr. Mallory, a graduate of the Granton High School, is a son of Mrs. Clyde Mallory of Granton. He is employed by the American Stores Dairy Company of Neillsville, Wis.

Out of town guests at the wedding were: Mrs. Clyde Mallory, Virginia and Marvin Mallory, Mr. and Mrs. Price Mallory, all of the Granton and Lucille Derring of Marshfield.
