Perko, Mary (2 DEC 1879 - 3 DEC 1944)

Mrs. Joseph Perko, nee Mary Hochevar, was born on Dec. 2, 1879 in Yugoslavia and was married in Pueblo, Colo. May 7, 1900 to Joseph Perko Sr. They came to Willard (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1912, living on a farm 3 ½ miles southwest of Willard.

Mrs. Perko passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield at 2:40 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, 1944 following a stoke which she suffered Saturday, Nov. 25.

She is survived by her husband and seven children, Mrs. Jos. (Olga) Zimmerman, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Mary Landini, Chicago; Joseph Jr., Ely, Minn.; Albert, Colombia, South America; Charles and Fred, Willard; Louis and Felix at home, and Sgt. Edward Perko of the U.S. Army somewhere in German, one brother, Joseph of Pueblo, Colo.; and a sister, Mrs. Jos. Mismes, Cleveland, Ohio, and 11 grand children.

Albert Perko of South America arrived in Marshfield shortly after his mother’s death.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Annie who died in 1916.

Her six sons were pallbearers.
