Dittner, Augusta (17 DEC 1860 - 9 JUN 1944)

Mrs. Augusta Dittner (nee Augusta Wagner) passed away on June 9, 1944 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Acker, in Grayslake, Ill., at the age of 83 years, cause of her death being pneumonia. Mrs. Dittner was born in Germany on Dec. 17, 1860.

She was married on Mar. 2, 1883, in Petershagen, Germany, to William Dittner. Shortly after their marriage they came to this country and lived for a short time in Illinois, before moving to the town of Beaver, in Clark County. They lived there until Jan. 18, 1925, when her husband passed away. Since that time she has made her home with her children.

She leaves to mourn nine children, six sons and three daughters: Herman of San Francisco, Calif.; Mrs. Amelia Linner of Minnesota; Wm. Of Washington; Henry of Cornell; Fed of California; Mrs. Augusta Acker of Grayslake, Ill., August of California, Mrs. Elizabeth Pilon of Madison and Ernest of Spencer; also 34 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, June 13 from the Trinity Lutheran Church here, the Rev. J.C. Langholz officiating, and burial was made in the Lutheran Cemetery.
