Wittke, Viola E. (Marriage - 11 Dec. 1940)

A pretty wedding was solemnized at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Wittke of Weston Township last Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. when their daughter, Miss Viola E. Wittke, was united in marriage to Alfred L. Garbisch of the Town of York, Rev. William A. Baumann, Neillsville, performing the ceremony.

The bride wore a street-length dress of light blue crepe, with a finger-tip-veil; a wreath of orange blossoms adorned her hair. Her jewelry consisted of a locket which was worn by her grandmother for her wedding. Her flowers were a combination of pink and white roses.

The groom’s attendants were Lester Wittke, the bride’s brother, and Leland Reich.

Mrs. William A. Baumann sang a solo and played the wedding march.

Supper was prepared and a reception held for immediate relatives and friends, at the home of the bride’s parents. The home decorations consisted of blue and white streamers. The wedding bell used at the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Wittke also was incorporated into the scene.

The couple will make their home on the groom’s farm in the Town of York.
