Joyce Degenhardt

Joyce Degenhardt, 75, Colby, died Friday, Jan 26, 2007, at the Colonial Center in Colby.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan 31, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, North Green Grove. The Reverend Dr. Paul C. Hunsicker will preside. Burial will be in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery in Dorchester, Wis.

Joyce was born April 3, 1931 in the Town of Colby to Oscar and Elnora (Glenzer) Erdman. She attended Sand Hill grade school and was a graduate of Colby, Wis. High School.

She married Harold Degenhardt on September 15, 1951, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, North Green Grove. Harold died January 3, 1975.

Joyce was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, serving as treasurer for a number of years and was a member of St. Paul’s Ladies Aid.

Survivors include her children, Lorna (Eugene) Writz, Phoenix, AZ, Lynn (Tom) Boneske, Athens, Loise (John) Schmalz, Eau Claire, Larry (Lori) Degenhardt, Wausau, Lu Ann (Lyle) Kloth, Dorchester, Lori (Vince) Nechuta, Dorchester and Kristie Degenhardt, Chapel Hill, NC; a sister Pearl Erdman, Colby; and brother, Galen (Shirley) Erdman, Curtiss; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two grandsons.
