Burkholder, Earl (29 MAR 1942 - 26 JAN 2007)

Earl Burkholder, 64, Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Spencer, died at 11:33 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, at the residence of Sylvia Chupp, Spencer, from an extended illness with cancer. Services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 30, at N7899 Hiline Ave., Spencer. Bishop Eli Miller officiated and was assisted by Marvin Schwartz and Kenneth Yoder. Burial followed in the Spencer Amish Church Cemetery.

Earl Burkholder was born on March 29, 1942, in Milford, Ind., to Joseph Jr. and Fannie (Slabaugh) Burkholder. He married Esther Graber on Feb. 21, 1969. He was a member of the Amish church in Pinecraft, Fla.

Survivors include his wife, Esther, Sarasota, Fla.; two daughters, Leanna (Marlin) Miller, Rural Retreat, Va., and Susan (Arlen) Miller, Millersburg, Ohio; seven sons, Martin (Martha) Burkholder, Salem, Mo., Steven (Kelly) Burkholder, Angola, Ind., Leon (Inez) Burkholder, Rushsylvania, Ohio, James (Norma) Burkholder, Spencer, Marcus (Wanda) Burkholder, Whiteville, Tenn.; four sisters, Sylvia Chupp, Spencer, Fern (Mervin) Miller, Belle Center, Ohio, Ruth Ann Burkholder, Decorah, Iowa, and Linda (Kenneth) Menzie, Napanee, Ind.; two brothers, Ward (Verda) Burkholder, Bremen, Ind., and Carl (Rosetta) Burkholder, Bellefontaine, Ohio; and 22 grand children.
