Mr. and Mrs. Philip Giloy (25th - 4 July 1925)

Silver wedding anniversaries are celebrated by many a wedded pair who have withstood for a quarter of a century the trials and perplexities that beset human life, but there probably was never a more joyous observation of such an event than the one held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Giloy, near this village on July 4th.

Twenty five years ago, July 4th, 1901, on the same farm, and in the presence of many of the same relatives and friends, the vows were pledged which established this much respected and congenial household. It was a regret that neither the best man nor the bride's maid could be present at this anniversary, the latter being just out of the hospital following an operation.

Dinner was served to nearly fifty guests, and eighty or more partook of a pinic supper. Mr. and Mrs. Giloy, received many nice gifts, besides the hearty congratulations of the many friends gathered. Surrounded by a happy family of children, to whom this silver wedding anniversary is an event always to be held in fondest recollection. Mr. and Mrs. Giloy, both in the best of health, now look forward with anticipation to the time when they can celebrate their golden anniversary. Here's hoping that they may be spared to do so.
