A very pretty wedding was solemnized at St. Paul’s Church at Curtiss on Friday afternoon, Oct. 23, 1936, at 2 o’clock when Gladys Scheuermann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl J. Scheuermann of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) became the bride of Denzel Van Gorder of Chippewa Falls. Rev. M.C. Goetsch of Green Grove performed the ceremony.

The bride approached the altar wearing a gown of white satin with mutton sleeves a deep yoke and Victoria collar of lace. Her lace trimmed tulle veil fell from a pearl headdress to form a train. She carried a bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums. Her ensemble was completed with sandals of white velvet and silver kid. Mrs. Walter Weller, sister of the bride, as matron of honor, wore a floor length gown of pink taffeta, with white accessories and corsage of roses.

Miss Lenore Scheuerman, sister of the bride, as bridesmaid, was attired in a floor length gown of coral pink taffeta with silver accessories and wore a corsage of roses.

Herman Waldhart attended the groom as best man. Both the groom and his best man wore navy blue business suits.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, where covers were set for 75. The home was decorated in pink and white streamers.
