Reinhard, Elizabeth (1875 - 21 Aug. 1940)

Funeral services were conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday for Mrs. Frank Reinhard, who passed away at her home on East Fourth Street Wednesday afternoon, August 21, after a long illness. Father J. A. Biegler performed the rites at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment took place in the Catholic Cemetery.

Mrs. Reinhard (nee Elizabeth Murphy) was born at Castleton, Vermont, her parents being Thomas and Julia Murphy.

On the 29th day of September, 1908, she was married to Frank Reinhard of Green Bay, Wis., their marriage taking place at Orwell, Vt. In March of the following year, Mr. and Mrs. Reinhard came to Neillsville to establish a home.

Mrs. Reinhard was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and of the Christian Mothers society of that organization. In her home she was a model of devotion and kindliness, her affection for her family being such as to make her household one of the peace comfort.

She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Florence, Mrs. Ray Baer, Marshfield; two grandchildren, Robert Michael and Thomas Patrick Baer; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret McDermott, of New York City and Mrs. Martin Dundon, Orwell, Vt.; and one brother, William Murphy, of Troy, New York.

Mrs. McDermott came several weeks ago to assist in caring for and comforting her sister during her last illness. The daughter, a trained nurse, also spent as much time as possible at the bedside.

The pallbearers were: Joseph Meyer, Eau Claire; Thomas Kelly, Carl Gassen, Paul Skroch, Nick Linster and Nick Gangler.

Here for the funeral from out of the city, beside those already mentioned were; Frank Reinhard, Sr., Mrs. Aloysius Reinhard, Mrs. August Bayard, Sylvester Reinhard and son and Joseph Reinhard, all of Green Bay; Mrs. William Farrell and Miss Kathleen Rubado, Madison; Mrs. George Rechert and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Smith, Marshfield; Mrs. Arlie Fritz, Hudson, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Meyer, Eau Claire.

The visit of Frank Reinhard, Sr., who is 86 years of age, to Neillsville, brought together four generations. The aged gentleman, his son Frank, Jr., his daughter, Mrs. Ray Baer, and her son, Thomas Patrick Baer, five weeks old.
