Viola L. Sherren

CHRISTIE -- Viola Lorene Sherren, age 92, of Christie, died on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, Wis. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. An American Legion Auxiliary Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday and an Order of the Eastern Star Service will follow at 6:45 p.m.

Viola was born on Dec. 15, 1914, in Long Point Township, Livingston County, Ill., the daughter of George and Annie (Limberg) Helton. She taught in Illinois for 15 years. During that time she was united in marriage to Kenneth Sherren on Dec. 21, 1955, in Moline, Ill. They moved to Greenwood in 1958 and Viola taught at the Neillsville High School for 21 years before retiring in 1979.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; and three nieces.
