Anna Podevels

Anna Podevels, 98, Colby, died Saturday, Dec 16, 2006 at Colonial Center, Colby.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec 20, 2006, at Peace Lutheran Church, Town of Frankfurt. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Reverend Jeffrey Tattas will preside.

Pallbearers will be Steve, Randy and David Manecke, DuWayne and Delmar Dahlke, and Marc Fosterling.

Anna was born March 20, 1908 in Dana, Canada to Francis and Ina (Kroeplin) Sellung. She came to Colby at the age of five with her family. They had moved to Montana for 10 years and then back to Colby.

She and Eugene Podevels were married December 15, 1928 in Milwaukee. After their marriage, they farmed in the Town of Hull for 46 years. Eugene died on August 22, 1974.

Anna was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and active in the Ladies Aid and sewing quilts. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, knitting and crocheting.

She is survived by her children, Erma (Ed) Kaisershot, Marathon, LaVern (Audrey) Podevels, Tomahawk, Marie Dahlke, Colby and Marjorie (Orville) Manecke, Edgar; 27 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 29 great-great grandchildren and one sister, Margaret Grammer, Abbotsford, Wis.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters, Marie Godlevski, Lena Janhke, Lorina Gatzke and Alice Lord; three grandsons, Ronald Kaisershot, Kevin Manecke and Shawn Podevels.
