Horn, Violet (26 JUN 1948)

Custer will be the new home of Violet Lucille Horn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Poppe, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), whose marriage to LeRoy Anthony Wadzinski, son of the Ray Wadzinzkis, Custer, took place Saturday, June 26, 1948, at St. Hedwig’s Church with the Rev. Father Kaim officiating.

The bridegroom’s sister, Miss Carol Wadzinski, Custer, was maid of honor. Another sister, Loretta Belgram, Edgar, a sister of the bride, Helen Anderson, and Miss Inez Mertens, were bridesmaids. Cheryl Resech, a niece of the bride, acted as flower girl.

Attendants for the bridegroom were his brother-in-law, Marvin Belgram, Edgar, best man; his brother, Donald Wadzinski, and the bride’s cousin, Herbert Horn, Greenwood, groomsmen.

The bridal gown of mousseline de sole was embroidered with orange blossoms and had a cascade of ruffles down the from of the skirt to match the ruffled border on the long train. Her scalloped finger-tip veil fell from a crown of orange blossoms. She carried a heart shaped shower bouquet of red roses, centered with a white orchid.

Queen Anne style gowns of white mousseline de sole were worn by the maid of honor, the bridesmaids and flower girl. Heart shaped bouquets of red roses with white showers were carried by the three attendants, while the flower girl carried a basket of red and white roses.

A reception for 150 guests was held at the home of the bride’s parents at 12:30 p.m. and supper was served there at 5 o’clock.

The bride, a graduate of the Withee High School and the two year course at Eau Claire State Teachers College, has been employed as a fifth and sixth grade teacher in the Nekoosa School system.

Mr. Wadzinski attended St. Francis Minor Seminary in Milwaukee and is now employed by the independent Creamery at Custer.

They are spending their honeymoon in northern Wisconsin.
