Laken, Helen (22 SEP 1947)

At a Nuptial High Mass celebrated Saturday morning by the Rev. Bernard Ambrosic at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard (Clark Co., Wis.), Miss Helen Laken, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Laken, Neillsville, became the bride of Matt Dergance Jr., son of Matt Dergance Sr., Willard.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an entrained gown of white lace and net. Her finger-tip veil, edged in lace, was caught to a seed pearl headdress. She carried a bouquet of white carnations.

The bride’s cousin, Miss Catherin Laken, Ottawa, Ill., as maid of honor, wore a blue taffeta gown and a matching open crowned sweetheart bonnet. The bridesmaids, Mrs. Harold Zeigler and Miss Alvera Voigt, wore yellow gowns and matching sweetheart bonnets. They carried bouquets of blue and white pompons.

The groom was attended by George Laken, brother of the bride. Harold Zeigler and Joe Zilk Jr., Neillsville, ushered.

A six o’clock dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents. In the evening a wedding dance was held at the Silver Dome Ballroom.

The bride, a graduate of the Greenwood High School, was employed at the Register of Deeds office in Neillsville, Wis.

After a week’s trip to the western states the newlyweds will make their home at Lyons, Ill.
