Doehler, Rev. Christian A. F. (1863? - 30 Jan. 1940)

Rev. Christian A. F. Doehler, 77, a retired Lutheran minister, Milwaukee, passed away Tuesday, January 30, at Deaconess Hospital, after a few days illness with pneumonia.

Rev. Doehler served St. John’s Lutheran Congregation here from 1890 to 1892. St. John’s first school was erected during his pastorate in Neillsville, Wis. He had charges at Algoma, Neillsville and Two Rivers, Wis., and at Escanaba, Mich., his active ministry covering a period of about 47 years. Rev. Doehler preached at the Golden Jubilee services at the Lutheran Church here several years ago.

In 1935 Rev. and Mrs. Doehler celebrated their golden wedding, Mrs. Doehler passing away in 1938. Surviving are three sons, and three daughters.

Funeral services were held in Milwaukee last Friday, burial taking place at Graceland Cemetery.

Rev. C. Doehler was my great grandfather. My grandfather was Martin Luther Doehler. My father was Jack E. Doehler.
