Winkler, Agnes (4 Aug. 1914 - 5 Jan. 1940)

The neighbors of the Simon Arnold family were saddened to learn Saturday morning that their daughter, Agnes, Mrs. John Winkler, of Unity, route one, had passed away Friday afternoon at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, following an operation. The cause of her death was given as infection and complications.

Mrs. Winkler was born August 4, 1914, in Vernon County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Arnold. She came with her parents to Clark county when a child, and in 1925 they settled on a farm near Veefkind, where she attended school and grew to womanhood.

She was married to John Winkler August 5, 1939, was the mother of two children, Vernon, 10, and Beverly Jean Schoenemann [Schoenmann?], 6, who with her parents, her husband, one brother, Donald, and a sister, Eva, survive her and with many relatives and friends will mourn her departure.

The funeral was held Tuesday from the Winkler home, near Unity, at 1:30 p.m. and at 2 o’clock at the Lutheran church in Unity. Interment took place in the Lutheran Cemetery.
