Herrick, Lucille (17 SEP 1942)

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Herrick, Willard (Clark Co., Wis.), announce the marriage of their daughter, Lucille, of Aitkin, Minn., to Harold F. Hawley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Hawley, also of Aitkin. The Rev. H. Mumson read the nuptial service in the Methodist Church at Aitkin at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, 1942.

Special music was provided by Mrs. Botille E. Smith, violinist, and Mrs. Royce V. Peterson, pianist. Large baskets of garden flowers were used for decorations.

Miss Marguerite Hawley and William T. Foreman were the only attendants.

The bride was attired in a soldier-blue afternoon dress of light weight wool and brown accessories. Her corsage was fashioned of yellow rose buds, asters and sweet peas. Miss Haley wore brown velvet with rust color accessories and her corsage was similar to the bride’s.

A reception was held for the couple Friday evening at the home of the bride’s parents in Willard.

The bride had been employed as a waitress at the Beacon Arch Hotel in Aitkin since January, and the groom, graduated from the Aitkin High School in 1930, is a contract hauler. They will live in Aitkin.

On Sept. 9 a prenuptial shower was held for the couple at the home of the groom’s parents.
