Miss Lydia E. Schmidt, Oakfield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schmidt, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Adolf Phillip Goppelt Jr., of Nekoosa, son of Mr. and Mrs. Adolf H. Goppelt Sr., of Waupun, in a double ring ceremony performed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Waupun, at 7:30 o’clock Thursday evening, Sept. 10, 1942.

The bride, attired in a long gown of white mousseline de soie and a lace edged fingertip veil, carried a shower bouquet of pink and white roses and white pompons.

Miss Ruth Goppelt, sister of the groom, as matron of honor wore a taffeta gown styled with a pink bodice and full blue marquisette skirt and Miss Lucille Schmidt, sister of the bride, in blue lace and chiffon, was bridesmaid. Both carried colonial bouquets of pink and white roses.

Orville Khols, Waupun, and Lester Schmidt, brother of the bride, attended the groom.

Following the ceremony dinner was served at Lamb’s Restaurant, Waupun, at flower decorated tables. The bridal table was centered with a wedding cake.

Mrs. Goppelt Jr. was attired in a blue suit with white accessories and had a corsage of white gardenias when she left on her wedding trip which will be spent in northern Wisconsin and at Wisconsin Dells. When they return they will reside in Nekoosa, where Mr. Goppelt is employed as stock clerk for Grode and Nash Paper Co.

The bride attended school at Mayville and the groom, who was graduated from the Waupun High School, attended Wartburg College at Waverly, Iowa.

Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Schmidt, Greenwood, and Louis Ratzburg and Roma and Robert Ratzburg of Loyal.
