Quast, Joseph & Caroline (52nd - 3 JUL 1940)

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Quast, residents of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) for over 23 years, observed their 52nd wedding anniversary at their home Wednesday, July 3, 1940.

The couple were married July 3, 1888, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Jefferson, by the Rev. Fr. Jaeger. Their attendants were Miss Elizabeth Quast, sister of Mr. Quast, and Mrs. Quast’s brother, George Fischer.

Until 1907 Mr. and Mrs. Quast made their home at Jefferson. They then moved to Clark County, where they settled on a farm south of Greenwood. In 1917 they moved to the city and have resided there ever since.

Mr. Quast was born in Jefferson County Aug. 3, 1857. He is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.G. Quast. Mrs. Quast, nee Caroline Fischer, is a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Fischer. She was born March 11, 1867.

The Quasts had eight children, the six living are: Mrs. Robert (Esther) Kinnear, Mrs. August (Edna) DeKennen, Mrs. John (Florence) Pauley, and John, all of Milwaukee; Mrs. Linus (Agnes) Prock, Globe; and Hugo, Willard.

While in Jefferson Mr. Quast was county treasurer for many years. The couple are members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and Mr. Quast has also served as trustee.
