Voie, Olive (23 OCT 1939)

At an afternoon nuptial service, performed at 3 o’clock Monday in the United Lutheran Church at Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), Miss Olive Voie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Voie, Greenwood, became the bride of Godfrey Dyre, son of Mrs. Annie Dyre, Greenwood. The Rev. A.E. Norson officiated.

The bride was attired in a frock of black transparent velvet and wore a black hat with a snood. Her bouquet was of white chrysanthemums.

Miss Vivian Voie, Eau Claire, who attended her sister, wore an aqua blue crepe dress with hat to match. French dahlias predominated in her bouquet.

Charles Steuber, Strum, was Mr. Dyre’s best man.

Mrs. A.E. Norson presided at the organ and played as a prelude, "Nocturne" from "Midsummer Night’s Dream," by Mendelssohn. Emory Voie, brother of the bride, sang "O Promise Me," accompanied at the piano by Miss Buchholz.

Twenty-five relatives and friends were entertained at a 5 o’clock dinner at the home of the bride’s parents. Table decorations were carried out in a color scheme of blue and white, and a wedding cake formed the centerpiece.

Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dunn and daughter, Danielle, Miss Vivian Voie, and Emory Voie, all of Eau Claire; Misses Arlene and Vera Buchholz and Lillian Kuester, Loyal; Charles Steuber, Strum; and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Larson, Longwood.

Mr. Dyre and his bride will make their home on the farm of the bridegroom’s mother, northeast of Greenwood.

The bridegroom is a graduate of the Greenwood High School with the class of 1929. The bride has been employed in Minneapolis for some time.
