Melin, Carl (8 NOV 1865 - 3 JUL 1935)

Carl Melin, 69, a resident of the town of Hixon (Clark Co., Wis.), died at his home early yesterday morning (Wednesday) after an illness of many months. He had been confined to his bed for several weeks preceding his death.

Mr. Melin was one of the older residents of the town of Hixon and was well and favorably known in this community.

Funeral services will take place Saturday afternoon from the home, the Rev. Irish of Thorp, officiating, and burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife and one son, both of whom have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in the loss of their husband and father.

Carl Melin was born in Sweden, Nov 8, 1865. He came to this country with his parents when four years old. The family resided in Moline and Rockford, Ill., for a number of years. In 1903 he was married at Rockford to Miss Fanny Price. Three children were born to this union, an infant son died in 1904, and a daughter, Winifred, 15, died in 1923. He is survived by his wife and son, Owen, Wis.
