M. E. Wilding was a visitor in town one day the last of the week. He states that the county fair, of which he is secretary, broke even, regardless of rain and hard times this year.

A new band is being formed by W. F. Hein, the"Toot-mores". Officers were elected at the last session and we will probably hear more from them later.

Among the newcomers to town are H. L. Birt and family, of Rib Falls, who have rooms in the Zerbel building, and Stacy Pars and family. Indians who have been located at the junction of 10 and B in the basket trade, are living in S. S. Andrus building.

Emil Miller, of the town of Sherman, one of the numerous candidates for the republican Nomination for sheriff, was a former resident of this vicinity. He is the oldest son of Ferdinand Miller, who had a farm west of the town. Emil Miller located on his farm in Sherman thirty-two years ago. The Miller family lived in Fairchild several years and then moved to Albion, Mich., where the father died twenty months ago.
