On Wednesday afternoon, June 18th, 1913, at Salem’s Church in Braun Settlement (Clark Co., Wis.), occurred the marriage of Miss Matilda Horn and Mr. Geo. Poppe, Rev. Otto Saewert officiating.
The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Dora Horn, and a sister of the groom, Miss Delia Poppe, Ed Poppe and Gustave Horn attended the groom.
The ceremony was spoken in German and was witnessed by about two hundred friends and relatives of the contracting parties.
The bride was attired in white voile and wore a wreath and veil, carrying white roses.
The groom was dressed in the usual black. The wedding party was very prettily arranged amid a beautiful display of flowers and decorations.
At the conclusion of the ceremony the party repaired to the bride’s home where a reception and wedding supper was given in honor of the happy young couple. The evening was very pleasantly passed in dancing and other amusements.
The contracting parties are very popular young people of that vicinity and enjoyed many beautiful gifts from friends and relatives.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Horn and is a young lady of excellent character. She will adorn her new home with happiness and be a helpmate in life’s journey.
The groom is a young farmer who resides three miles west of Longwood. He is a prosperous young man and will attain success in his profession.
The Gleaner joins with friends in wishing them success and happiness through life.
