Kudingo, Jennie (October 8, 1906 - June 15, 2005)

Jennie Kudingo, age 98, of Thorp, died at Rosewood Villa Retirement Center, in Thorp on Wednesday, June 14, 2005.

Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp. Father Keith Apfelbeck officiated and burial followed in St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was held at the church, on Tuesday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Jennie Luchay was born on October 8, 1906 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Fred and Stella (Ickowski) Luchay. She was raised and educated in the Detroit area, and after completing her education, moved to Chicago to be near her sister. She was united in marriage to Steven Kudingo on October 27, 1924. They resided in Chicago, where Jennie worked as a seam-stress, until moving to Thorp, WI in the early 1950’s. She then worked in Stanley at the Stanley Corporation until her retirement. After retiring, they lived on their farm north of Thorp. Her husband died on August 6, 1979. She continued to live on the farm until moving to Rosewood Villa Retirement Center in Thorp.

She was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church and enjoyed playing cards, flowers, sewing and crocheting.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and three sisters.

Thorp Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
