Lindquist, John Monte (March 22, 1943 - July 18, 2005)

John M. Lindquist, age 62, of the Town of Lakeside, Douglas County, WI, died at St. Mary’s Medical Center, in Duluth, MN, on Monday, July 18, 2005.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2005 at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp. Father Keith Apfelbeck officiated and burial followed in East Thorp Cemetery. Visitation was held on Saturday at the church, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

John Monte Lindquist was born on March 22, 1943 in Eau Claire, WI, the son of Kenneth and Lilas (Aslakson) Lindquist. He was a 1961 graduate of Thorp High School and a 1981 graduate of UW-Stout. John married Connaught Conway, in Thorp, in 1967. During their marriage they resided in Eau Claire, Thorp and Poplar. John was versatile in all things, which was reflected in his different careers. In his later years, his talent and his Lindquist heritage allowed him to concentrate on his favorite, designing and building residences. John’s kindness, wisdom, generosity and humor will continue to enrich the lives of all who were privileged to know him.

He is survived by his wife, Connaught; sons: Knute (fiancée Shannon Asher) of Eau Claire and Ephraim of Terre haute, IN; daughters: Brigid of Poplar, WI and Susannah (Peter Stingle) of Duluth, MN; grandchildren: Philomena and Brue; sisters: Nancy (Norbert) Teclaw of Oak Park, IL and Ingrid (Harold)Hallenger of Montello, WI and brother Donald (Kate) Lindquist of Thorp.

John was preceded in death by his parents.
