Mrs. Cynthia Wood was born in Ithica County, NY on Dec 8,1833. She was united in marriage to Capt. Chas. Wood in 1850 removing the following year to Watertown, Wis. Where they made their home until 1892 when they came to the town of Brighton this county where she assisted in carving a home out of the wilderness.

The deceased was very much a home woman, while she did not neglect her social duties her greatest pleasure was derived in ministering to the needs of her family.

Besides her husband she is survived by six children: Ernest of Chicago, Leon of this village, Mrs. G.A. Fox of Jefferson, Guy and Carl of the town of Brighton and Mrs. George Ritteenhouse of Colville, Wash.

The remains were laid at rest in the Watertown cemetery. A large concours of friends and neighbors attended the funeral which was held from the house last Thursday. The bereaved relatives the sincere sympathy of all in the affliction.
