Reid "Jack" Johnson, 68, town of Unity, Spencer, died on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2006, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital Care, Marshfield. Visitation with family and friends will be at the Community Funeral Home, Spencer, on Thursday, Sept. 21, from 2 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 4 p.m. The Rev. Peter Ruggles will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Town of Brighton Cemetery.

Reid Johnson was born on March 20, 1938, in Unity, to Carl and Bertha (nee Slen) Johnson. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958. He married Margaret Bauer on Feb. 3, 1961, in Milwaukee. While living in Milwaukee, he was employed with Mark Construction. In 1977, they moved to the town of Unity where he was self employed in cement finishing. He was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, gardening, and playing golf. He especially liked working the crossword puzzles in the Milwaukee Journal and listening to the Milwaukee Brewers on the radio.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Margaret Johnson, Spencer; his children, Karl (Karin Komis) Johnson, Spencer, Kent (Barb) Johnson, Unity, Kristine (Rich) Tarter.\, Marshfield, and Kane Johnson, Eau Claire; seven grandchildren, Brinae and Kenny Johnson, Joseph, Samuel, and Emma Tarter, and Stephanie and Kyle Johnson; two sisters, Renata Lynn, Unity, and Barbara Decker, Elm Grove.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and a grandson, Bradley Johnson.
