Magnuson, Geraldine Ann (September 23, 1931 - September 13, 2006)

Geraldine A. Magnuson, age 74, of Marshfield, died Wednesday evening, September 13, 2006 at the House of the Dove, with her daughter by her side. Private family services will be held at a later date. Hansen Funeral Home of Marshfield is assisting the family with arrangements.

Geraldine Ann was born September 23, 1931 in Sioux City, IA, to William and Irene (Strampe) Schunke. As a young girl, Geraldine moved with her family, to the Black River Falls area where she grew up and graduated from high school.

On July 2, 1949, the former Geraldine Schunke was united in marriage to Earl Magnuson at the Lutheran Church in Black River Falls. The couple made their home in the Neillsville area where Geraldine raised their children and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Magnuson enjoyed crafts, cooking, bowling and golf, reading, flowers, watching the Food and Weather Channel and was "Deb’s personal Meteorologist."

Geraldine is survived by her two children, Greg (Sharon) Magnuson, of Neillsville, and Deb (Al) Zahn, of Marshfield; six grandchildren, Scott (Heidi) Magnuson, of Neillsville; Stacie (Tim) Heck, of Neillsville; Trista and Leah Zahn, of Marsh-field; and Breanna and Caley Leggate, of Granton; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ardith Halweg, of Iowa.

Mrs. Magnuson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earl in 1990; and by a daughter, Lori Leggate, in September 2005.
