Anthony 'Tony' Marksteiner

NEILLSVILLE -- Anthony "Tony" Marksteiner, 70, of Neillsville, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville, Wis.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Buchanan Funeral Home in Neillsville, Wis. Burial will be in St. Mary's Parish Cemetery, Neillsville, Wis.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 12:30 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.

He was born Aug. 21, 1935, in Chicago to Anthony S. and Ruth (Keller) Marksteiner. He married Betty Repp in 1959 in Chicago. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and then worked as an accountant in Chicago, moving to Neillsville in 1975. He founded and operated Country Gas from 1985 to 2000.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Marksteiner, Neillsville; three sons, Dennis (Jane) Marksteiner, Neillsville, David (Marjorie) Marksteiner, Marshfield, and Donald Marksteiner, Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Doreen (Greg) Zickert, Neillsville; four grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren; and three brothers, Dale (Shirley) Marksteiner, DeMotte, Ind., Frank (Sue) Marksteiner, Richton Park, Ill., and Mike (Vicky) Marksteiner, Stevens Point.
