Luopa, Samuel (6 Dec 1879 - 16 DEC 1930)

The death of Samuel Luopa, living one mile south and one mile west of Wolters corners, occurred Monday, following a lingering illness, the last five days of which confined him to his bed. He was fifty-one years of age, and had been a resident of the town of Longwood for a number of years.

Mr. Luopa came with his family to Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.) nine years ago, after having worked in the mines in the west for several years. Here he had developed a nice farm, and was highly respected among his neighbors. He leaves to mourn, his wife and one daughter.

Funeral services will take place this afternoon from the home, Speaker Martilia of Duluth officiating and burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.

Samuel Luopa was born Nov. 6, 1879 in Kurikka, Finland, and died at his farm home in the town of Longwood on Dec. 15, 1930 at the age of 51 years.

Deceased came to America in 1898 where he was united in marriage to Lempi Laitila in 1907.

He leaves to mourn his death a wife and daughter.

Mr. Martilia conducted funeral services from the home Dec. 18, the remains being taken to Riverside Cemetery for burial.
