OBITUARY

This week we are called upon to chronicle the sudden, although not unexpected death of Mrs. Hannah Thomas which occurred Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Jones in the town of Colby.

Hannah Phillips, daughter of Daniel and Sophia Phillips, was born in South Wales, Jan. 22, 1825. She came with her parents to the United States when twelve years of age.

In 1845 she was united in marriage with Morgan Jones, at Pelmyra, Ohio to this union two children were born, David and Daniel. In 1850 they moved to Winnebago Co., WI. her husband dying the same year.

In the year of 1853 she was united in marriage with Evan Thomas, to this union one child was born, Sophia.

Her husband died in 1885. She lived with her son Daniel Jones in the town of Colby until his death about eleven years ago, since then she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Jones where she died Sunday morning, Feb 14, 1904, after an illness of two days, her death being caused by old age, she having attained the age of 79 years and 23 days. She leaves behind one daughter Mrs. William (Sophia) Jones of Colby, and a brother, Wm. Phillips of Oshkosh, WI. She also leaves twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
