Wood, Doris (Marriage - 28 May 1938)

Neil Warren and Doris Wood, both formerly of Neillsville, were married at the Methodist parsonage, Los Angeles, Calif., at 4:00 o’clock in the afternoon Saturday, May 28th.

They were attended by Ruth Warren, sister of the groom, and Francis (Sandy) Neff, formerly of Neillsville, Wis.

The bride was attired in a dress of brown sheer and a brown and yellow hat and wore a corsage of gardenias and yellow sweet peas. Her bridesmaid wore a gown of gold sheer with brown hat and a corsage of gardenias and pink rosebuds.

The groom is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Warren of York Township and until he went to California in April, had lived most of his life on the farm. He is employed in the office of the Sunkist Company at Los Angeles.

The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wood, and lived in Pine Valley until about three years ago when she accepted a position with the Employer’s Life Insurance Company of Wausau. Last March she went to Olympia, Wash., to visit her sister, Dorothy, going to Los Angeles a few weeks ago where she is employed in the office of a large rubber company.

Both young people were graduates from Neillsville high school in 1935, and were active in school activities. They were chosen as Kind and Queen of their class in their sophomore year.

They went to housekeeping at one of the Witmer Crest apartments, 307, Witmer Avenue, Los Angeles, where they have a new modern, furnished apartment.

The many friends here with them a life-time of happiness and success.
