On Friday evening, March 18, Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Mallig celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Oswald Pischer and family in the town of Grant.

The evening was spent visiting with friends and relatives. Mr. Mallig entertained the group with songs, stories and anecdotes. Rev. Laesch of Mapleworks church, Granton, addressed the couple from a Psalm text and offered a blessing.

A bountiful lunch was served at 10 o’clock, each guest receiving a piece of the gold-trimmed cake.

Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Lebrecht Kalsow and son, Wilbert; Mr. and Mrs. Roland Kalsow and daughter, Helene, Rev. and Mrs. Leasch, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Keuer and daughters, Edna and Arlene, Misses Hilda and Gusta Schoengarth, Miss Velda Tews and Herbert Frederickson.

Sunday at 4:00 o’clock dinner was served at the home of another daughter, Mrs. Lebrecht Kalswo and family at Globe.

Three bouquets of cut flowers, roses, daffodils, zinnias, snap dragons, stock and carnations decorated the tables for both occasions.

The room and table decorations were gold and white and each guest wore a gold spray.

Poems were read by Mrs. Kalsow, Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Grap and Wilbert Kalsow.

Mr. and Mrs. Mallig came to this country from Germany at the ages of 18 and 16. In 1888 they moved to Clark County and he worked at odd jobs until 1900 when he purchased a tract of land which he developed into a fine farm. Mr. Mallig was compelled to discontinue farming because of failing sight. Since then the aged couple have made their home with their daughter, Mrs. Oswald Pischer of the town of Grant.

Thoma, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kunkel, Mrs. Bertha Bodwin, Mrs. Bertha Mitte, Mrs. Augusta Schroeder, Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Grap, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Timmler, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Keuer and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Klueckman, Annabelle and Elaine, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schlinkert.

Mrs. Ida Frei, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Kalsow and daughter, Helene, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Tews and daughter, Velda, Miss Pauline Medicke, Mrs. Helene Scheel, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Kalsow, Mr. and Mrs. Oswald Pischer and family and Rev. and Mrs. Motzkus and family.

Friends and relatives join in wishing Mr. and Mrs. Mallig many more happy anniversaries.
