Harriman, Adna Pennamon (18 April 1889 - 3 Jan. 1938)

Adna P. Harriman, 48, who died at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3 at Neillsville as a result of a nervous breakdown and a heart ailment, was born April 18, 1889, in the town of Fremont. His marriage to Helene Anding took place at Marshfield on July 1, 1914. After their marriage Mr. Harriman was employed on a farm for two years, later spending several years as a section laborer at Chili, and for the past 12 years he has operated the Farmers’ tavern.

Mr. and Mrs. Harriman were also employed on a farm at Parishville, N. Y. for 2 ½ years.

He loved music and singing, all outdoor sports, baseball especially and liked to hunt and fish.

Surviving, besides his widow, are one son, Corliss William, 5; one sister, Mrs. Agnes Herschner, Minneapolis; one half-sister, Mrs. Ruth Adler, Milwaukee; and a half-brother, Clemence Waterman, Wausau. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Harriman, a sister, Rhoda, and a brother, Joseph, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held from the home in Chili and from the Woodman Hall Thursday afternoon, Jan. 7, with Rev. E. P. Stone of Neillsville officiating. Burial was made in the Lynn Cemetery.

Those from a distance who attended the funeral are: Mrs. Sherman Gress, son of Arthur, and wife and daughter, Mrs. Herman Hagedorn and her husband of Neillsville; Richard Anding, wife and daughter of Altoona; Charlie Anding and wife, Otto Anding, wife and son, and Frank Anding and son, all of Lynn; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Anding and children, Marshfield; Gordon Florence, Wisconsin Rapids; and his sister, Lovaida, and her husband of Minneapolis.
