Lawrence McKevitt Jr.,"Larry" age74, died on Thursday, May 4,2006 at Owen Health Center in Owen, Wis.

Lawrence Ronald McKevitt Jr. was born on June 29,1931 the son of Lawrence Ronald and Jenny(Durham) McKevitt Sr. in Hatfield. He attended schools in Black River Falls and he graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1949. He then joined the Army. On July 8,1950 he married Ramona Holmgreen of Black River Falls. They later divorced. Shortly after they were married Larry was sent to serve in the Korean War. In 1952 he became an officer in the Army and was stationed in Georgia, Kentucky,and then Germany for three years. When he and his family came back to the States Larry became a State Patrolman working out of Sheboygan County. He then took a job as a Conservation Warden and worked in Weyawega, Fremont and Neillsville, Wis. He then went on to school to pursue a bachelors degree in education to teach History. Larry loved hunting and fishing and being in the outdoors.

He is survived by three sons,Randy McKevitt, of Washington D.C.;Brian (Becky) McKevitt, of Neillsville; and Craig McKevitt,of Minneapolis, MN. He is further survived by two grandchildren, Katie and Jacob McKevitt; and one sister, Bev McCauley,of Neillsville, Wis.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Ronald and Reggie McKevitt; and a brother-in-law, James McCauley.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting the family with arrangements.
