Oestreich, Adolph & Theresa (Gold - 12 AUG 1934)

On Sunday, August 12, the fiftieth wedding anniversary of Mr. an Mrs. Adolph Oestreich was celebrated at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Charles Lucht, Spokeville.

A sumptuous wedding dinner was served at noon. At the first table, covers were laid for only Mr. and Mrs. Oestreich and their children, all of whom were present, excepting two. The table was artistically decorated in gold and white. An elaborate wedding cake of gold and white, appropriately adorned with miniature bride and groom, graced the center of the table. The same color scheme was carried out in the festoons and flowers.

After a very pleasant afternoon of best wishes, congratulations, and happy memories, a delicious evening meal was served.

Mr. Oestreich was born in Germany December 26, 1854. Mrs. Oestreich, nee Theresa Meuche, also a native of Germany, was born July 30, 1865. They were married in the Lutheran Church of Granton, Wis., by the Rev. Fisher in 1884. The pioneer couple located on a farm about five miles northeast of Loyal, where they lived until moving into the village, fourteen years ago.

Their union was blessed with eleven children, all of whom are living, with the exception of one daughter Lilly, Mrs. Albert Luchterhand. Eight of their children attended the reunion. They are: Alfred, Harry, Frank, Lothar and Dennis of Loyal; Elsie, Mrs. Charles Lucht of Spokeville; Lorene, Mrs. Jens Eyde, of Brainerd, Minn., and Walter of Park Falls, Wis., Ellna, Mrs. Elmer Deumning of Guthrie, Oklahoma and Evelyn, Mrs. William Vogel of Rogers, S. D., were unable to attend. The total attendance of relatives was forty nine.

As a token of love and esteem, the dear old couple was presented with a beautiful set of gold-trimmed dishes. It was a happy day for Mr. and Mrs. Oestreich, and may they have many more of them.
