Wilfred 'Bill' Loertscher

OWEN -- Wilfred "Bill" J. Loertscher, 92, of Owen, died June 19, 2006, at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen, where he had resided for more than two years.

Funeral services will be at noon today at Peace United Church of Christ, Dorchester, Wis. Burial will be in Medford Evergreen II Cemetery.

Visitation will be today at the church from 10:30 a.m. until time of services.

Bill was born Dec. 6, 1913, in Medford, the son of Herman and Lena (Lindenschmidt) Loertscher. He was married to Margaret L. Paur on May 26, 1938, at Jackson. She preceded him in death on Nov. 1, 2003.

The couple farmed in the Medford area from 1942 to 1952, then moved to the Loyal area where they farmed until retiring in 1975.

He is survived by a daughter, Donna Roemer of Mukwonago; a son, Gary (Sue) Loertscher of Madison; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Herb (Lydia) Loertscher of Anamosa, Iowa, Leonard "Lenny" (June) Loertscher of Janesville and Harold (Helen) Loertscher of Woodstock, Ill.; and a sister, Mildred Heinz of Medford.
