Litka, William F. (14 APR 1845 - 18 APR 1934)

William Frederick Litka was born at Fornholz, Germany on the 14thy day of April 1845. In 1873, he was united in marriage to Miss Earnestine Arndt, which union was blessed with eight children. Two children and his wife preceded the deceased to eternity.

In 1881 he came to the United States and settled in the Town of Loyal, Clark County, Wis., where they homesteaded a piece of wild land which they developed into a modern farm.

The deceased was also a charter member of the local Trinity Lutheran Church, being one of the few that remained who helped to build the first Loyal Lutheran Church.

Ever since the death of his wife the deceased made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Chas. Pickruhn of Greenwood and his two sons William and Herman

On Wednesday morning, April 18, 1934, he was called to his eternal reward, attaining the age of 89 years and four days.

He leaves to mourn his loss, two sons and four daughters, Namely Wm. Litka, Town of Loyal; Herman Litka, Town of Beaver; Mrs. Chas. Pickruhn, Greenwood; Mrs. Earl Stowe, Beaver; Mrs. Ralph Philpott, Town of Loyal, and Mrs. Andrew Lydicksen, Town of Unity.

Thirteen grand children, 8 great grandchildren, besides a host of other relatives and friends also survive him.

Funeral services were held Friday ay the Chas. Pickruhn home at 1:00 and 2:00 from the Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment was made in the Lutheran Cemetery here, Rev. H. F. Leschensky officiating.

The pall bearers were the two sons and four sons-in-laws: William and Herman Litka, Earl Stowe, Charles Pickruhn, Ralph Philpott and Andrew Lydicksen.

The flower girls were four grand daughters, Adaline and Verna Litka, Ora Stowe and Dorothy Lydicksen.
